INT. ROAD/CAR – DAY

Mary is in the car with her father and stepmother. They're driving along a country road, on their way to drop off Mary at Perkins College. It’s a girls' boarding school in Quebec.

Even before then, I already had a bad feeling about it. I felt like a grey mouse heading right for the mouth of a cat and there was nothing, nothing I could do about it. My mother had died three years before, and I was beginning to forget what she looked like. When I looked in my compact and saw my own face…...
